The new Resident Evil 2 RPD Demo has a Nemesis Easter egg

A new version of the Resident Evil 2 remake demo released yesterday dubbed the RPD Demo. This demo is virtually the same as the original RE2 One-Shot Demo, but it has the timer removed, allowing players to explore at their leisure. There is also one detail in the RPD Demo that wasn’t in the one released almost a year ago: a Nemesis Easter egg.

Fortunately, finding the Nemesis Easter egg in the Resident Evil 2 RPD Demo is easy:

  1. Start the demo.
  2. When the game loads, turn around and exit the RPD.
  3. Turn right and walk towards the boarded up passage.
  4. When you’re near the boarded doorway, listen carefully.

Once you’re in the right spot, you’ll trigger Nemesis saying his iconic “SSSTTTTAAAARRRRSSS” line. If you don’t want to go to the trouble, you can also hear it in the embed below.

Unfortunately, Nemmy’s line can only be heard in the demo, as this Easter egg was not added to the full game. You also won’t get a chance to see him in-game just yet. However, if you happen to own RE2, you can access another RE3 Easter egg that isn’t available in the demo. A letter from Jill Valentine has been added to Kendo’s Gun Shop which is tied to a new achievement (see exactly how to find the letter here).

Though Resident Evil 2 didn’t win any categories from The Game Awards (though it did win our Game of the Year), it was one of the best-reviewed games of 2019. As such, there’s a ton of hype for the Resident Evil 3 remake. Hopefully, as we get closer to launch, Capcom will surprise us with more teasers for the game.

You can get your hands on Resident Evil 3 remake on April 3, 2020 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
