sell Steam games

US Congressman spent $1300 in campaign funds on Steam games

The lure of the Steam sale can be powerful. So many amazing games for so little money, a properly budgeted spending spree can have you set for an entire year or more. That must of been what United States Representative for California Duncan D. Hunter was thinking when he logged onto Valve’s gaming service. The only problem is that the $1,300 he spent was out of his campaign fund rather than his bank account.

This news comes out as Hunter and his wife Margret plead guilty to using more than $150,000 from their campaign fund for all sorts of non-campaign expenses. As stated by the Department of Justice in a press release:

“The Hunters stole money from the campaign for items as inconsequential as fast food, movie tickets, and sneakers, as trivial as video games, Lego sets, and Playdoh; as mundane as groceries, dog food, and utilities.”

There’s no word on which exact games Duncan purchased on Steam, or if he just spent all that money on loot boxes in Fortnite. It would make sense, you gotta look you’re best on the campaign trail after all.
