Metroid Fan Film Project Seeks Funding On Kickstarter

Massive State and Moxie Lady Productions have taken to Kickstarter in search of funding for the creation of a fan film starring Nintendo's iconic bounty hunter Samus Aran.

The title of this would-be short film is Metroid: Enemies Within and is set to be about 10 minutes in length. Here's a brief summary of where the creative crew wants the plot of this Metroid fan flick to go:

Samus Aran, a bounty hunter for the Galactic Federation, wakes up on an unknown ship after being rendered unconscious in a battle with a powerful being named the Gorea.  She discovers she is being held hostage on the ship of a rival bounty hunter named Sylux, and learns of his plot to destroy the Federation while implicating her in the process.  Samus fights to escape in order to save herself and the Federation before it's too late.

Massive State and Moxie Lady Productions are looking for $90,000 in funding. Metroid: Enemies Within is "a not for profit fan film and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Nintendo." Will the Big N allow this project to see the light of day? The company is awfully protective of their IP so I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.
