L.A. Noire’s MotionScan Headed To A Theater Near You?

In an article posted on Now Gamer, R&D head Oliver Bao at Depth Analysis hinted at the team's interest in broadening their revolutionary MotionScan technology to the film industry and possibly beyond. As I mentioned in my L.A. Noire review, MotionScan is absolutely amazing and can easily impress you even with graphics that are less than cutting-edge. On a huge Hollywood budget, the potential is nearly limitless. According to Bao:

We have already begun tests for game and film partners, and even other industries. I’d love to tell you, but we’ll have to wait until we begin filming first.

We have been able to provide MotionScan tests to various leading game directors and studio heads who have been interested in using this tech, and have their own ideas of how the tech can bring their own IP or license to life.

I only hope that this prospect allows us to forget Avatar even sooner.
