Downloadable-Centric Trademark For Eternal Darkness Registered By Nintendo

Nintendo has registered a trademark for Eternal Darknessyou know, the game Silicon Knights developed for the GameCube—and by the looks of it, The Big N may be gearing up for a digital release.

This new trademark for the title (courtesy of Siliconera) specifically mentions "downloadable electronic game programs" and "downloadable electronic game software." Sounds an awful lot like a Virtual Console version is in the works, eh?

With Precursor Games currently working on a spiritual successor for the Wii U, it would make total sense for the platform to get a digital version of the original GameCube title. If the game does come to the Virtual Console, will you pony up the cash? How much would you be willing to pay? Let us know in the comments below.
