The voice of Duke Nukem and Big the Cat is going to make many gamers ecstatic in the coming years. Jon St. John is now an ordained minister and is able to marry happy couples. His first wedding ceremony takes place this Saturday, although it’s yet unknown if the lucky pair is a fan of Duke Nukem 3D.
Jon St. John announced the news on Twitter. He makes it clear that if requested by the wedding couple, he can perform the ceremony by doing Duke Nukem’s voice.

When asked if he could marry someone doing the voice of Big the Cat as well, he swiftly replied: “I can do that.” Apparently, Jon St. John doesn’t have any issues with celebrating weddings in character. Another user asked if he would officiate same-sex marriages, to which Jon St. John replied: “Of course…what’s the difference?”.
The announcement lead to many replies, most of them quoting his famous voice work. These are only a few of them: “You may now kick ass and kiss the bride” (@Scrungo808); “”By the powers vested in me I now pronounce you king and queen. Hail to the both of you, baby! You may now kiss the babe” (@thegoddamndoomg); “Now do something amazing so you can become St. Jon St. John” (@Kriptinamos).
Jon St. John is the voice actor for Duke Nukem since the inception of the bold and brash character, although the lukewarm reception to 2011’s Duke Nukem Forever almost destroyed the franchise. Gearbox rescued the game from development hell, but was unable to deliver an adventure that honored the legacy of Apogee Software’s classic first-person shooter.
The now classic “It’s time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I’m all outta gum!” quote remains as current nowadays as it was in 1996, with others such as “Nobody steals our chicks… and lives” remaining engraved in many memories as well.
