Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt release date

Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt coming 2020, boasts external 4K HDR capture over Thunderbolt

The Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt release date period has been teased as “launching in 2020.” Following the announcement of gameplay capture card competitor Elgato’s 4K60 Pro MK.2, Avermedia didn’t wait around to remind gamers and content creators about its upcoming Bolt product.

Capable of capturing 4K 60 FPS HDR gameplay and video content through an external device, the Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt is evidence of the company once again pushing the envelope for consumer products. Using Thunderbolt technology, the Bolt is capable of both high resolution and high frame-rate captures, with a device that can now be stored outside of the PC system.

Avermedia’s current flagship device, the Live Gamer 4K (review here), has proven to be a capable product on its own, but is limited by it being an internal device. While it’s perfect for those with a PC and the knowhow to fill spare expansion slots, those with laptops or limited knowledge are unable to take advantage of 4K 60 FPS HDR capture. That’s where the Live Gamer Bolt comes in, as a more portable and accessible product.

Never one to stand still, AVerMedia is also putting the finishing touches on their next trailblazing capture device: The Live Gamer BOLT, launching in 2020, which will be the first external consumer 4K HDR capture card. It uses Thunderbolt technology to allow high fidelity, high frame rate capture without requiring an internal card.

If the Live Gamer Bolt’s external support isn’t something you require, then you may want to check out the recently discounted Live Gamer 4K. At the time of writing, it’s currently available on Amazon.com for $199.99, which is $100 off the retail price. (Update: Due to the high demand for the discounted Live Gamer 4K, the price has increased. However, Avermedia plans to restart the sale on Friday, August 23, so consumers will have another opportunity to get the discount.)

As for the Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt, stay tuned for more information in the “coming months.” GameRevolution will keep the coverage coming up until launch and beyond.
