Gran Turismo 6 Demo Out Today

Sony announced today that the demo for Gran Turismo 6 is available today and offers gamers a shot at a postion in the Nissan GT Academy team.

The demo takes players to the Silverstone race track where they can get a quick tutorial on driving and controls, race four warm-up circuits using two different Nissan cars, the LEAF and 370Z. After you've gotten your tires used to burning rubber, five time trails will open on the Silverstone track for the Nissan 370Z.

One of those races will include a full lap of Silverstone, which will record your best time to enter you for the GT Academy. You can play the track as many times as you'd like until 3:59 PM Pacific on July 28th. At that point, the contest will close.

The 31 fastest racers will get invited to the National Final events to join Armen Aghakhan who won a seat during E3. This whole process might even result in you nabbing a spot on the Nissan professional racing team like Steve Doherty who won the 2012 GT Academy North American circuit.

The PlayStation Blog has more details for anyone seriously considering their chances in the competition.
