Firefall has been in closed beta for almost two-years, but that chapter of its life will soon come to a close. With the introduction of the final closed beta client this Thursday, June 27th, the game will make its final stop before release.
Included in the final beta update are several key additions. For one, Jetball will be available for play which is Red 5 Studios' ambitious PvP game mode. Participants are grouped into two teams of five players and given the objective of shooting a ball into the opponent's goal. It's intended to be very team-oriented and a clever way of giving PvP fans something to talk about.
Additionally, the introduction of the games first story episode, Blackwater Anomaly, will be playable. This will be the first time beta testers and fans can experience more from the world than fetch quests and killing.
A live action trailer will be released on July 9th to coincide with the release of open beta. As with Neverwinter, open beta is a soft-launch of sorts that may be treated as the game's debut. A teaser for the trailer is viewable below:
