PlayStation LifeStyle has found a few trademarks that Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) has filed that appear to be linked to Sony's "Greatness Awaits" slogan for the PlayStation 4.
The first trademark, called "Bid for Greatness," appears to be for some online auction house and/or incentive program:
Arranging and conducting auctions in the field of computer games, virtual game assets and tropies [trophies?]; Arranging and conducting incentive reward programs to promote the sale of computer games, virtual game assets and tropies [trophies]; Auction services; Providing consumer information in the field of computer games and video games
The second trademark is called "Gateways to Greatness" and has the following:
Video broadcasting services over the Internet or other communications network featuring the uploaded, posted and tagged videos of others; Video transmission over digital networks; Video-on-demand transmission services via the Internet
And:
Electronic games services provided by means of the internet; Providing a website for entertainment purposes featuring videos about computer games; Provision of non-downloadable films and movies via a video-on-demand service
Providing a web site featuring temporary use of non-downloadable software allowing web site users to upload on-line videos for sharing with others for entertainment purposes
So what do you think, it's some sort of video streaming service? It sounds like we have plenty to learn about the PS4 before it launches this holiday season.
