Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs leaked, DirectX 12 confirmed

It seems that the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs may have been leaked. A user on the GTA Forums has discovered some interesting tidbits of information in the game’s companion app, providing yet another hint that we’re getting closer to the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

DSOGaming reports the GTAForums member rollschuh2282 discovered several references to Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs. One of these references is “Directx Feature Set 12_1”, referring to the most current (and most powerful) version of the popular graphical API for Windows. While DirectX may be used for the console versions of the game, it wouldn’t necessarily be referred to in this fashion by an app for a console-exclusive title.

That’s not all that there reportedly is, though. Several other graphics options previously seen in Grand Theft Auto 5 have been turned into slider bars. This kind of fine-tuning isn’t really necessary for consoles as all systems are essentially the same and the game can be optimized to run on them specifically. PC players, however, would absolutely need such functionality.

It’s not all good news, though. According to DSOGaming, several other settings seen in previous leaks were missing. This could mean a few different things. For one, previous leaks (or this current one!) could have been inaccurate in some fashion. There’s also the possibility that older leaks were showing developer-only functionality that was never intended for use by regular people. Finally, it’s possible that the app simply doesn’t include the code for absolutely every setting that we would see in the PC Version.

Most recently, we saw a leak on the Rockstar Social Club somewhat related to the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC specs. If this latest leak proves genuine, it may be a sign that we’re getting closer and closer to the big reveal—let’s hope that we see it sooner rather than later!
