Neverwinter Leaves Beta On June 20th, Adds Endgame Content

Neverwinter's open beta was treated as a pseudo-release with no character wipes to make you feel like your hard work will be thrown away in exchange for helping shape the game. Nonetheless, it has to release at some point, and that time is soon.

On June 20th Neverwinter will close the book of its lengthy beta cycle. As a treat for players there will be a large update released coinciding with release. Among minor adjustments and additions, a new zone titled Gauntlgrym will become available. Within it, players battle fierce NPCs and even eachother. Beyond two events is The Crypts of Gauntlgrym, a dungeon dubbed as "epic" and the only place you can earn tier 2 armor sets. There's an additional second dungeon where tier 1 sets can be found, but who wants to be second best?

As you might already know Neverwinter's free-to-play nature, with a cash shop so Cryptic doesn't just bleed money, will carry into its release. If you want to dive in and see what all the fuss is about, either now or after June 20th, all you have to do is head to the main site and create an account.

Despite the game's friendly price tag of zero, Cryptic Studios has continued to work on new content. Beyond Gauntlgrym there will be a free expansion called Fury of the Feywild. It's a much larger patch than the one that will be seen on the 20th, but will come later during this year's smoldering Summer.

Below is the trailer for Gauntlgrym:
