Telltale's The Walking Dead Definitive series release date revealed

The Walking Dead Definitive Series release date revealed

After bringing the series’ final season back from the dead, Skybound Games has now revealed the Telltale’s The Walking Dead Definitive Series release date. The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 10.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series contains all four seasons of Telltale’s takes on the series. In addition to this, it also includes The Walking Dead: Michonne mini-series, as well as the 400 Days downloadable content pack, and several digital bonuses.

The bonuses include over 10 hours of developer commentary, and other bonus features such as concept and character art galleries, and the documentary short Return of The Walking Dead. It even has improved animations that are exclusive to this bundle, according to the trailer.

In addition to this, the “graphic black” art style that came as an option on The Walking Dead: The Final Season can now be applied to all seasons and content. The style pays homage to Robert Kirkman’s original The Walking Dead comic books that inspired both the games and the TV show. As part of this, Skybound released a teaser showing this “graphic black” art style  applied to the previous seasons.

Telltale’s The Walking Dead Definitive Series almost never happened. The company shut down before all of the episodes of The Final Season were released. However, Skybound Games was able to step in and complete the work on completing The Final Season and the series as a whole.

For those interested in picking it up, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series comes in three unique, limited edition bundles. The most affordable of these is the $99 “Protector Pack” which comes with the games, as well as number of extras including an “Ericson School for Troubled Youth” t-shirt, Lee Everett and Clementine enamel pins, Russian nesting portraying four different versions of Clementine seen in the game, a replica of Kenny’s iconic hat, and a “Disco Broccoli” plush.

A $249 “Guardian Pack” comes with all of the above, but adds in a diorama of Lee and Clementine, an art print, and gold-stamped signatures from the Still Not Bitten development team that was formed with former Telltale developers to finish The Final Season.

An even more expensive “Signature Pack,” which has the art print hand signed by creator Robert Kirkman, the Still Not Bitten team, and some of the voice talent from the games also exists. However, this was limited to 100 pieces and has already sold out.
