Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled online issues fixed

Day one was a rough start for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled online play. There were reports of players disappearing from the map, disconnecting from the game, and instances of everyone “leaving” a game and defaulting the remaining player to first place. Developer Beenox heard the players’ cries for help and banged out a 300mb patch that seems to have solved the issues.

Release day can be tough for games, and the online multiplayer for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was hurting. The remake of Naughty Dog’s 1999 hit Crash Team Racing seemed to be suffering server issues from the get-go. Players took to social media to report a litany of bugs as they tried to play online. Minimaps were not synchronized to player location, lobbies were broken, and players disappeared from the game or teleported around the map, to name just a few issues.

Thankfully, Beenox was aware of the situation and the developers got to work fixing it immediately. They recently put out a 300mb patch which seems to have solved online issues for most players on all consoles. With the patch notes simply saying “bug fixes,” players can now matchmake and play online with the game running as intended. Players on Reddit have reported glitch-free races and smoother matchmaking all around. One user pointed out that since the patch solved the problems, there was likely an issue with the game itself rather than the servers, which had been speculated previously.

Whatever the root cause of multiplayer woes, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled online is now good to go. The brief pit-stop has made for a far better online player experience and hopefully the game will continue to be bug-free moving forward.
