NIS America has some great news for fans of Granzella’s Disaster Report series. The company has confirmed a Disaster Report 4 Plus 2020 release date for the West on PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Granzella originally started development on Disaster Report 4 for the PlayStation 3 nearly a decade ago. However, the company put the game on hold back in 2011 due to the Tohoku Earthquake. After all, the game’s subject matter hits a bit too close to home, as it features a city devastated by a massive earthquake.
Fan demand eventually got the company to restart development of the game as Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories. This version of the game finally launched on PlayStation 4 in Japan back in November of last year. A Japanese Nintendo Switch release is set to follow sometime this coming September.
NIS America has confirmed that it is bringing Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories to North America and Europe on those same platforms. In addition to this, it will also be bringing the game to PC via Steam.
As part of the announcement, NIS America confirmed that Western version of the game will contain the original Japanese audio with subtitles. It also revealed a special “First Aid Box” limited edition set. In addition to the game, the “First Aid Box” comes with the game’s official soundtrack on CD, an identification tag, and a novelty “Emergency” backpack.
Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories focuses on a student whose summer vacation is interrupted by a massive earthquake. The player’s character is now forced to survive through various scenarios and collaborate with other survivors. To help make them more realistic, Granzella actually got the real world Kobe Fire Bureau to help design some of the game’s scenarios.
It may have taken a while, but fans of the series in the West will finally get to experience all the action of Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories later this next year. In the meantime, NIS America has also released the following trailer.
