SNK has announced that it is releasing a second demo for Samurai Shodown. The Samurai Shodown second demo arrives this Friday for PlayStation 4, and it comes without the restrictions found in the first demo.
For those who missed it, a demo for Samurai Shodown exists for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan and Asia. This demo, however, is subject to a number of restrictions. First, players need to be PS Plus members to download it. After that, they can only play it for a maximum of two hours. As part of this, this demo requires an online connection to prevent players from bypassing the time limit.
The new, second demo will have none of these. Players won’t need PS Plus to download it, nor will they be limited to two hours. The second demo will also have a different set of characters as the first: The old demo let players play Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Yashamaru, while the new demo will give them access to Charlotte, Genjuro, and Ukyo instead. Players will be able to try them out in the game’s Training , Versus, and Tutorial modes.
The demo will be available to download in the Japanese PlayStation store starting on June 21. However, it will only remain there until July 1. For players on Xbox One players looking to try the game out, SNK is planning a demo for the console as well. However, SNK has yet to give a release date for the Xbox One demo.
Of course, players already looking to buy Samurai Shodown don’t really have to wait much longer to get their hands on the game. Samurai Shodown arrives on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Tuesday, June 25, though PC and Switch will get it later this winter.
Additionally, SNK also has a bonus for early adopters. Players who either preorder the game or pick it up by June 30 will get the game’s season pass for free, the likes of which will add four more characters to the game’s roster.
