The Minecraft Dungeons release date was also announced during the E3 conference along with a new game trailer, which can be seen below.
Minecraft Dungeons release date announced at E3 2019
Minecraft Dungeons will be released in spring 2020 on Xbox One and PC. Aside from this announcement and the trailer, there wasn’t much more information that was shared about the upcoming title.
The new trailer shows the pixelated world of Minecraft and follows characters as they explore the open world, searching for keys and fighting enemies. During their journey, they will come across hoards of enemies who will have evil intentions! It appears that the main feature of the game will be dungeon crawling, which is something that hasn’t been explored in detail from the previous Minecraft spin-offs.
Players will not have to explore the dark dungeons alone, however, and will be able to take the journey with up to four friends in local or online co-op. Minecraft Dungeons will be available on Windows, Xbox One, and Game Pass at launch. In addition to this announcement, Microsoft also shared that Minecraft Dungeons would be released in time to use the new subscription option for Game Pass, known as Game Pass Ultimate. This will allow players that subscribe to Xbox Live and Game Pass to combine their subscriptions for a lower monthly price.
