Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Switch gameplay

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Switch gameplay revealed

The first Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Switch gameplay was revealed today in a trailer posted today by Nintendo. We were treated to half a minute of gameplay for the upcoming racer, along with some pre-purchase DLC.

CTR Racing fans will no doubt have been examining the trailer closely to see whether the Nintendo Switch version of the game will hold up against the other versions also being released on PS4 and Xbox One. Some Nintendo ports tend to lose their edge due to the graphical limitations of the Switch hardware, but only a few differences seem to crop up in this footage.

The fur shader and some textures take the biggest hits followed by a few pieces of missing scenery, but hopefully, none of these things will affect the enjoyment of playing the game. Pre-ordering Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will grant you access to the Electron Skins pack, adding a futuristic Tron feel to your experience. The skins will be unlocked for Crash, Coco, and Cortex as well as giving each racer their own unique podium animation.

However, it is worth noting that pre-purchasing the game on either of the other available platforms will also unlock the Electron Skins pack. The PS4 has got its own exclusive skins, offering retro versions of Crash, Coco, and Cortex as well as a retro track to try them out on. The exclusive PS4 content is being offered as a throwback to the original game, released on PlayStation in 1999.

The skins are a nice addition to the game, but some retailers in other regions have showcased more desirable pre-purchase perks. If you buy Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled from Brazilian retailers, for instance, you’ll be gifted bright yellow socks adorned with Crash’s joyful face.

Adorable.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is set for release on June 21, 2019, on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
