Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date

E3 2019 | Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date and gameplay trailer revealed

We finally got a Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date at today’s Final Fantasy Concert held near E3. After the tumultuous development of Final Fantasy 15 and some of the bad news we heard about progress on FF7 Remake, it seemed like the game may be in trouble. However, today’s announcement shows that everything is starting to come together. The game is coming out on March 3, 2020 worldwide. However, Square made no mention of episodes.

Square also said that more will come during its press conference on Monday at 6 PM PT.

In addition to a release date, we got some new Final Fantasy 7 Remake gameplay in the reveal trailer.

It’s hard to believe it was almost exactly four years ago that FF7 Remake was announced at E3 2015. Since then, Square Enix has been relatively quiet, and we haven’t seen a lot of the game until now. We still have a lot of questions about Final Fantasy 7 Remake, in any case. We know it’s going to be episodic, so the most significant question now that we know when the first part is going to release is when we’re going to get to see the conclusion to the story.

Though the gameplay footage did a lot to reassure us that the game was on the right track, we hope to see more in the near future to confirm just what the scope of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is. The original game features an expansive world full of side quests and places to explore, and we really hope that nothing gets cut. For this remake to do the original justice, then it really has to include all the content that made Final Fantasy 7 one of the most beloved games of all time. Otherwise, there’s really no point to it.

You’ll get your chance to go back to Midgar when Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases on March 3, 2020 on PS4.
