The Halo Infinite release date has been revealed in the first gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming FPS. Developed by 343 Industries and announced during today’s Microsoft E3 2019 press conference, a new trailer was revealed during E3, showing us what we can expect when the game finally launches. Halo Infinite is undoubtedly one of the hottest Xbox games on the horizon, with it being one of the key announcements made during the Xbox E3 presentation.
Taking place after the events of Halo 5, Halo Infinite will put the focus of the series back on its long-time protagonist Master Chief, with it being the third installment in the franchise’s Reclaimer Saga — the series of Halo games developed by 343 Industries, who took over the sci-fi series following the departure of creator Bungie, beginning with 2012’s Halo 4.
Halo Infinite release date for Project Scarlett, Xbox One, and PC
Halo Infinite will make its way to the Xbox One, Project Scarlett, and PC in the Holiday 2020 release window, with it set to be a cross-generational release that will launch on both of Microsoft’s platforms along with being available for PC gamers. Originally unveiled at E3 2018, the game has been described as a “spiritual reboot” for the Halo franchise, following mixed reactions to 343 Industries’ previous takes on Microsoft’s marquee multiplayer series.
It will be a direct sequel to Halo 5, and will come to Microsoft’s hugely impressive Game Pass service, meaning that Xbox owners will get the chance to download the game if they’re signed up to the gaming subscription service. This puts it in line with other key first-party Microsoft franchises also receiving the Game Pass treatment, including Gears 5.
