Gran Turismo Sport update adds the Goodwood Motor Circuit

Grand Turismo Sport update adds the Goodwood Motor Circuit for free

A new Gran Turismo Sport free update adds one of the most historic racing circuits in the world to the game. The Goodwood Motor Circuit has finally made its Gran Turismo debut in the upcoming 1.39 update that is slated to release on May 30

Built on the perimeter roads around the Royal Air Force’s Westhampnett airfield, the Goodwood Motor Circuit hosted its first race in 1948.  Throughout the years, the circuit has hosted a number of historic races, including Formula 1 races, endurance races, tourist trophy events, and more.

In recent years, the circuit has become associated with events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, taking place at the nearby Goodwood House and the Goodwood Revival. The latter features historic race cars and racing motorcycles that would have competed during the circuits original period of 1948 to 1966. With these two events, the circuit has become something of a mecca for car enthusiasts and motorsports fans around the world.

Prior to this, Gran Turismo 6 featured the hill climb course at Goodwood House used for the Goodwood Festival of Speed as a DLC track. However, the update represents the first time that the Goodwood Motor Circuit proper is appearing in the series.

With the circuit’s debut in Gran Turismo Sport, players will be able to race these same historic race cars on the circuit. The trailer for the update features a number of period cars that one would expect to see at Goodwood such as Chevrolet Corvette Stingrays, Alpine A110s, Porsche 356s, and even Toyota 2000GTs.

Of course, racers will also be able to race each other in more modern cars as well when the track hits Gran Turismo Sport. That said, running more powerful modern race cars on Goodwood’s older style course with limited run off zones may be a challenge on its own.
