Silicon Knights Reportedly Closing Offices, Selling Assets To Precursor Games

A lot of confusion currently surrounds game development studio Silicon Knights, as some of the team's talent has moved over to Precursor Games, a new company currently working on a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness.

Apparently Precursor Games has purchased a whole bunch of Silicon Knights' assets for the creation of the aforementioned sequel, Shadow of the Eternals, while the studio empties out its offices.

While Paul Caporicci, Precursor Games CEO, claims that they have "no connection to Silicon Knights," Dennis Dyack, the former boss over at the troubled studio, has officially revealed that he has left the company to be the chief creative officer at Precursor Games.

Wouldn't it be so much easier for this new studio to send out a press release succinctly stating what exactly is going on? Instead a new game and studio are announced simultaneously with little to no information to go on. Not cool guys. Not cool at all.
