Jedi Fallen Order

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order writer discusses ‘solid vision’ behind the game

Though we still have to see some gameplay from it, EA’s Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order sounds promising thus far. The upcoming title will focus on single-player adventure this time around, rather than multiplayer. And with Respawn at the helm, it has a proven team behind it. That team also includes God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen. And the writer behind the project, Chris Avellone, had nothing but strong words for him in a recent interview.

Avellone explained in that interview with WCCFtech that the director has a “really solid” vision behind the project, one that fans will love.

“I’d never met Stig or worked with him before, but he has a really solid vision and even better, he’s able to communicate it. So he set a really good path for the project,” he explained.

For that matter, working with the respective teams turned out to be a treat for Avellone. He said it was “really good” working with Respawn.

Later, he turned his praise to the game’s other crucial partner.

“Lucasfilm was really great with Jedi: Fallen Order,” he continues. “They had really good notes and reasons why they wanted changes. And the reasons why is important because when you hear that, suddenly that answers a bunch of future questions down the road. We’re like, ‘OK, well, we shouldn’t do that at all, because they’ve already indicated the reasons why that’s the case.’”

Avellone had no trouble slipping back into the Star Wars universe following his work on Knights of the Old Republic 2. He noted that it “still feels like Star Wars and always has those basic principles that make up the franchise.” He later added, “It was kind of like putting on a comfortable shirt that you were used to.”

We’ll have to wait a little longer to see how Jedi Fallen Order looks, with gameplay set to arrive in June.
