Xbox Smart Glass Now Available For Kindle Fire

Both Major Nelson and Amazon.com have posted that as of today, the Xbox Smart Glass App for Android is finally available for both the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD. Thanks to Amazon's Android-ish set-up for the Kindle Fire, unless you have rooted your device, you will either get Android apps later than everyone else or not at all. So normally, it's great thing to see that the Xbox Smart Glass has finally made it over to these popular tablet devices.

However, as I went over to Amazon to verify the availability of Smart Glass and to go on ahead and send it to my Kindle Fire for download, I was stopped short at the notice that my Kindle Fire is not compatible.

Maybe it's only the Kindle Fire HDs that are? Well, that's not what the product description says:

I've double-checked that my Kindle Fire is up to date with the proper firmware and Android version, so I have no idea why Amazon.com says my device is not compatible or why the app isn't showing up in my device's app store. I've already sent a report to Amazon about it, but I'm not expecting much.

Perhaps it takes a few hours or even days after an app is posted to Amazon.com for it to become available for all Kindle devices. Or it's another example of how Amazon is holding the Android capabilities of the Kindle Fire back.

If you're able to download it for your Kindle Fire, let me know how much my device sucks in the comments below!
