Wii U Virtual Console Coming Tuesday

Better late than never.

Nintendo has confirmed that the Virtual Console will be coming to Wii U next Tuesday. The software will be accompanied by seven titles which are the following:

  • Balloon Fight
  • Excitebike
  • F-Zero
  • Mario Bros.
  • Punch-Out
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid

Games will be priced based on their system of origin; NES games will cost anywhere between $4.99 – $5.99 while SNES titles will cost $7.99 – $8.99. Installing the games on a separate device than it was purchased on will require an additional $1 – $1.50 fee.

Virtual Console will include game save back-ups, off-screen play via the GamePad, and Miiverse communities.

As far as the future is concerned, Nintendo has promised that sometime in 2013 Earthbound will be added to the Virtual Console library. N64 and Game Boy Advance games still don't have an expected release window, but are still confirmed to be supported in the future.

Star Citizen is an upcoming space trading and combat simulator video game for Microsoft Windows. Star Citizen will consist of two main components: first person space combat and trading in a massively multiplayer persistent universe and customizable private servers (known as Star Citizen), and a branching single-player game (known as Squadron 42). The game will also feature VR support.
