Xperia PLAY Hits Verizon On May 26th

Sony Ericsson's Android-powered PlayStation Certified Xperia PLAY, announced earlier in the year at Mobile World Congress, will be on sale at Verizon stores beginning on May 26th. The Xperia PLAY combines what you need (smartphone), with what you want (game system), and will priced at $199 with a new two-year contract.

The Xperia PLAY will come preloaded with the following titles:

  • Madden NFL 11
  • Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior
  • Asphalt 6: Adrenaline
  • The Sims 3
  • Star Battalion
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Tetris

You'll be able to expand upon that with a massive library of titles available from both, the Android Market, Verizon's V-Cast Apps, and eventually, PlayStation Suite.

The Xperia PLAY comes equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and specs that can hang with any other smartphone on the market. It's the best of both worlds.
