Trover Saves the Universe, the next game from Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland’s Squanch Games, has a release date. The game actually has two release dates, and the Trover Saves the Universe release date on PS4 is earlier than PC.
Trover Saves the Universe releases on May 31 for the PS4 and PSVR, and just a few days later on June 4 for PC. The game is playable in a both VR or a standard format on PS4 and PC. A new, profane trailer was released today to announce the release date. No reason was given for the staggered release between PS4 and PC. Pre-orders for the game are now live, with a pre-order incentive cutting the game’s price to $26.99 instead of the usual $29.99. Trover Saves the Universe is available through Steam and the Epic Games Store on PC.
Squanch Games will also be at PAX East this weekend with Trover Saves the Universe. The company announced their plans for the Boston, MA convention earlier this week. Merchandise for the game will be available for purchase, as well as some free sunglasses to those who play the game. Roiland is hosting the Comedy in Games panel on Thursday, March 28 at 4:30 pm.
Squanch Games announced Trover Saves the Universe at E3 2018 during Sony’s presentation. The game is mixing first and third-person action, and has the player control themselves and the titular Trover at the same time. Roiland has said the game regularly talks to and references the player’s presence as just that, a player. Trover is also one of the most improvised games out there, with Roiland regularly making new jokes while recording VO for the characters he plays.
The Trover Saves the Universe release date is just a few short months away, in the meantime check out the new release date trailer below.
