North America and the rest of the world ('cept Japan) got back online with their PlayStation 3s over the weekend. While the PlayStation Network Store still remains dark, the PlayStation Blog has given North American and European gamers an idea of what they'll be getting in return for all of that thumb-twiddling they did during the outage.
Once the PlayStation Store is restored, PSN users can select two PS3 games from the following list for download, free of charge:
–Dead Nation
–inFAMOUS
–LittleBigPlanet
–Super Stardust HD
–Wipeout HD + Fury
If you're a PSP owner with a PSN account, you've got two more choices to make out of the following four games:
–LittleBigPlanet PSP
–ModNation Racers
–Pursuit Force
–Killzone Liberation
The PlayStation blog also reports that PlayStation Network users will also be able to choose from a selection of "On Us" movie rentals over the course of one weekend. If you were not enrolled in PlayStation Plus, Sony's hoping you'll change your mind after 30 days free of the premium PSN service. The same 30 days will be available to individuals not enrolled in Sony's Music Unlimited service.
If you were enrolled in PlayStation Plus before the outage, your account will be extended by 60 days. If you were already enrolled in Music Unlimited, you'll get 30 free days attached to the end of your current subscription, along with the total number of days the service was out.
Even PlayStation Home will get a handful of bonuses in order to get player to reenter the virtual space. 100 virtual items will be available to users reentering Home after the service outage. More free content will also become available including an addition to the Home Mansion space and Ooblag's Alien Casino.
I have no f***ing clue what any of that Home stuff is, but I'm happy about some free games. What will you be taking away from the outage?
