Fortnite fall damage removed

Fortnite fall damage removed in latest patch… Sort of

If you were hoping that more Apex Legends features were coming to Fortnite, then I’ve got some good news for you. You see, there’s now a “Fortnite fall damage removed” feature added to the game. This was implemented with the recent 2.10 update, and comes in the form of the Flint-Knock Pistol. The main purpose of this new weapon is to knock enemies back while dealing high damage. However, it also knocks back the user, and this can come in useful when falling to your death from a high ledge.

In the right hands, the Fortnite Flint-Knock Pistol is proving to be a great tool when looking to enjoy the convenience of quickly falling from a great height, without the disadvantage of splatting on the ground. Used properly, the Flint-Knock Pistol can be fired just before the player makes impact with the ground, in order to get a boost back into the air. This combination leads to a fall with no damage.

You can see the trick demonstrated by Reddit user “zacpp0044” below:

New gun allows you to take no fall damage from any height! what do you guys think about this? from r/FortNiteBR

If you’ve played Apex Legends, you’ll know the advantages of being able to quickly leap off a high platform without worrying about the fall damage waiting for you below. It’s a freedom that makes for fewer deaths at the hands of gravel and dirt, instead allowing for more impressive plays and satisfying escapes.

Of course, this isn’t a true no Fortnite fall damage implementation by Epic Games. This is just a cheeky secondary function of a new weapon, discovered by the community. Hell, it’s even possible that the developers didn’t intend for this to happen, and changes to nerf the usefulness of this new gun could already be in the works!

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen fall damage removed from Fortnite. The ability to redeploy gliders is a controversial mechanic that some players love and other players hate. Clearly no fall damage is a concept that Epic Games is continuing to consider and tweak. Only time will tell if the Flint-Knock Pistol remains a fall damage negator.
