With the Koei Tecmo game being released today, the Japanese company has detailed their roadmap for the Dead or Alive 6 season pass. The season pass costs $93 (£74) and its contents will be released between March and June 2019. The pass includes 62 costumes and two new characters. The new characters will be guests from The King of Fighters XIV.
Day one of the Season Pass 1 roadmap sees gear made available for pre-order bonus character Nyotengu and an outfit for NiCO, a new female character for DOA6. The starting character costumes included in the season pass are titled Happy Wedding Costumes Vol.1/2 and Costume Pack Vol.1/2. Whereas the two additional characters will both gain five costumes each. Mai Shiranui from The King of Fighters XIV is one additional character. The second is yet to be named.
There’s a deluxe edition of the game which features character Phase 4, a clone of Kasumi. It is not clear if the character will ever be released separately. Season Pass 1 is not included within the deluxe edition. At the moment, all the content listed in the Season Pass 1 is only available through the season pass.
The game’s Steam page does state that the content will be sold separately so “please beware of redundant purchases.” Another interesting line mentions “downloadable content not included in the list above may be released during the same period, but it will not be covered by this Season Pass 1.” The information may disappoint fans if they believed the season pass would mean they received all Dead or Alive 6 content for the game’s first few months.
The Dead or Alive series has often come in for criticism due to its controversial female character designs. The issue came to the fore earlier this year when the Dead or Alive 6 Evo Japan stream was taken offline due to NSFW content.
Dead or Alive 6 is out today on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For fans wanting to catch up on DOA before jumping in, we discuss the newest characters in the series prior to Dead or Alive 6.
