Ecco The Dolphin Creator Starts Kickstarter For Spiritual Sequel

Ed Annuziata, the creator of Ecco the Dolphin, announced back in February that he would launch a kickstarter campaign for a spiritual sequel of the game, and lo and behold, the kickstarter fundraiser is live. The game is called The Big Blue, and Annuziata is currently asking for $665,000 to fully fund his new underwater adventure.

"While this game isn't based on the original Ecco the Dolphin series, it is the next evolutionary step in underwater adventure games," Annuziata explained. "We want to make something epic. Something with smooth game controls, deep backstory, emphasis on exploration and artificial life."

The game features exploration, questing, puzzling solving, and collecting life for studying and reproduction.

The campaign will end on April 29th, and if it is successful, the game will release in April 2013 for iOS, Android, PC, and Mac.
