Ni No Kuni 2 DLC is cute

Ni no Kuni 2 DLC announced for March

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is getting a new DLC chapter in the middle of March. The new Ni no Kuni 2 DLC adds new characters, missions, and battles to the RPG. The Tale of a Timeless Tome DLC will be available on March 19.

Announced today, the new Ni no Kuni 2 DLC follows Evan in a new chapter of his continuing adventure. Evan and his friends travel to the Goldpond Inn where people have been getting visited by the Conductor in their sleep. The DLC sees Evan entering dreams with the help of the Conductor to unveil the mystery of the Goldpond Inn. The story will “delve into the pasts of the main characters” according to Gematsu’s translation of Level-5’s Japanese description of DLC.

The new Ni no Kuni 2 DLC can be played starting from chapter five of the main game. The previous DLC is not required to play The Tale of a Timeless Tome.

The Tale of a Timeless Tome also adds new combat methods to Ni no Kuni 2. Those new combat methods include the Wizard’s Companion, Oliver’s spellbook from the first Ni no Kuni, and Martha’s Method. Level-5 didn’t provide details about these new combat methods but expect them to be integral to competing in the Solosseum Slog.

The Solosseum Slog is a new location where furious battles await. Slaying powerful monsters in this new area can net powerful rewards for Evan and his companions. The Slog is a new time attack battle arena where rewards are doled out based upon finishing time.

Ni no Kuni 2‘s second large DLC pack will run $14.99 or a regional equivalent. It is included in the game’s season pass, which sells for $19.99. The game’s first substantial DLC, The Lair of the Lost Lord, was released in December for $9.99. That DLC added a new randomly-generated dungeon and introduced different combat methods to Ni no Kuni 2.
