Untitled Goose Game Delayed

Untitled Goose Game delayed, idyllic hamlets are temporarily safe

Indie developers House House have announced an Untitled Goose Game delayed release. Their quirky game featuring an ornery avian gained a measure of interest from people who like to see weird little games, and was originally expected to launch for the PC and Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2019. Unfortunately, it seems like they won’t be able to make that release window as they had originally hoped.

If you haven’t heard of it before, Untitled Goose Game operates on a simple and realistic premise: you are a goose. Geese are, occasionally, bastards. Ergo, you must run around a peaceful little village being as much of a pain in the butt as you can to the otherwise happy townsfolk. Steal a gardener’s hat, honk at people doing their daily shopping, and cause all sorts of other chaos for your amusement until the good people of this idyllic town just can’t take it anymore. There are a bunch of different things you can do, and the videos we’ve seen so far suggest that there will be some kind of objectives for you to complete in your quest to cause chaos.

Why was Untitled Goose Game delayed? The developers put out a tweet talking about the delay with a cheeky video:

Unfortunately, the developers don’t go into detail other than saying that the delay was caused by “circumstances beyond [their] control.” As a result, Untitled Goose Game‘s release date has been changed from “Early 2019” to “later in 2019.”

Although an Untitled Goose Game delayed release may be disappointing for some, this means that the developers will have more time to better flesh out the experience. It’s better that they take the time to get things done right rather than put out a substandard product that will hurt their reputation and not provide the best experience for players. You’ll be able to savagely annoy villagers to no end when Untitled Good Game launches sometime later in 2019. In the meantime, you should check out our preview to read more about it!
