Microsoft Doesn’t See Valve As A Competitor In The Console Gaming Space

Valve plans to invade living rooms across the globe in the not so distant future with a device we've come to know as the Steam Box. Interestingly enough, Microsoft president of Interactive Entertainment Business, Don Mattrick, isn't all that concerned with the software giant's plans to take over gamers' entertainment centers.

When asked at Microsoft's TechForum this week whether or not he sees the Steam Box as a competitor, Mattrick responded with a flat out "no," going on to add that he thinks the company is "doing some innovative stuff."

As for why he doesn't believe Valve will be a viable competitor, the Microsoft exec went on to say, "The scale of products and things that are being brought to market are probably a little bit richer when I look at Sony, Nintendo, Apple, and Google."

What do you think? Will Valve's Steam Box be able to hold its own against the likes of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
