Sucker Punch Talks More About Infamous: Second Son

Sucker Punch announced the next game in the inFamous series at the PlayStation event earlier this week, and now, Brian Fleming, co-founder and producer of the developer, shares more about Infamous: Second Son on the PlayStation blog.

Second Son takes place seven years after Cole McGrath's adventures in Empire City and New Marais. Anyone exhibiting any super powers, or "bio-terrorism", is immediately handed over to the Department of Unified Protection (DUP). Their job is to ensure that there is never another Empire City or New Marais catatrosphe. Enter new protagonist Delsin Rowe, who recently discovered he has ability to manipulate and transform into smoke, and who has decided he will not go quietly into that good night.

"Along the way, Delsin is going to ask questions that are not just relevant to the world of Second Son – but to the world we all live in today," Fleming said in his post. "A world where we are often instructed to surrender our freedoms to help improve our security. Ben Franklin once wrote 'Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.' Is he right?"

Second Son will also take place in Seattle, not a fictional city based on an actual US city. And yes, expect some sort of morality bar to affect both your decisions and the outcome of the story, like any good inFamous game.
