L.A. Noire Coming With “Rockstar Pass”, Project $10 Strikes Again?

Jeez! It's been so busy in the past week that I've completely forgotten about L.A. Noire! I know, I know… "How dare you! You're supposed to be on the ball! You fucked up! Gatorade is better!"

Shut up! I've been busy.

My attention took quite the turn today when I received the latest Xbox Live Newsbeat, a newsletter "just for us." There's not a lot you could call interesting in here. Quite frankly, I treat it a little bit like the junk mail grocery ads that show up in my mail box every week. So let's see… what's going on this week in Xbox Live land.

Oooh, Sega Rally Online Arcade! That sounds pretty interesting! …. NOOOOTTT. Neither does Fable 3 for Windows.

Wait a sec- what's this? L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass. 800 Microsoft Points ($10):

In celebration of launch on May 17, take your L.A. Noire experience to the next level and download the "L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass add-on.

Unless Rockstar and Team Bondi are totally messin' wit' us, I can't see this as anything other than an online-pass in the vein of the Cerberus Network. I don't think there's any multiplayer solvin' to do in 1947 L.A. so the Rockstar Pass has got to do something with the retailer-specific DLC cases. What else could the Rockstar Pass possibly be?
