Jack Black has launched a gaming YouTube channel, with the actor saying that it will be bigger than both Twitch streamer Ninja and YouTuber PewDiePie. The channel, named Jablinski Games, has only published one introductory video so far, featuring Jack Black swiveling around in a gaming chair.
“This is my new YouTube channel, Jablinski,” Black says in the video. “It’s gonna be bigger than Ninja, it’s gonna be bigger than PewDiePie.” Black then abruptly reclines his chair in a reference to an ongoing inside joke on PewDiePie’s channel.
While Black introduces Jablinski, it seems like the videos will be filmed and edited by his son. In the video’s description, the actor notes how 12-year-old Samuel Black recorded the channel introduction. The description also notes that the channel’s content will focus on “games, food, and life.”
The video can be viewed below:
According to the debut video, Jack Black will upload new videos every Friday, meaning that we should see the next upload on December 28th. At the time of this writing, the channel has just under 600,000 subscribers with over 2 million views on its first video. For comparison, PewDiePie has over 78 million subscribers as the site’s most-subscribed channel, so Black has a long way to go if he wants to become the top channel on YouTube.
It’s unclear if every Jablinski video will star Jack Black, or if the actor’s son will eventually take the spotlight. A pretty impressive gaming setup can be seen in the background of the video, but we’re not sure if Black is much of a gamer himself. He previously starred in Double Fine’s Brutal Legend, though in a 2009 interview with USA Today, he described Scramble and Marble Madness as being two of his favorite video games ever. We’re not sure how much playthroughs of those games would resonate with an audience most interested in Fortnite and Roblox.
