Death Stranding Japanese Voice Acting Recording Underway, Hideo Kojima Confirms

Death Stranding Japanese voice acting has commenced recording according to Hideo Kojima, and they’ve landed two excellent VAs for the game’s major characters. Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding is still a ways away, but very much in production. Part of that process is getting voice talent on board for other regions. We now have confirmation in a tweet from Hideo Kojima himself that some of the major characters have been cast for the Death Stranding Japanese voice acting.

Norman Reedus’ character Sam Bridges will be voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda and Léa Seydoux’s unnamed character will be voiced by Nana Mizuki. Kenjiro Tsuda most notably played Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. He also has a long list of supporting roles to his name including appearances in NarutoOne PieceMy Hero Academia, and many others. As for Nana Mizuki, she has quite a few more main roles to her name. Her most recognizable credits include Hinata in Naruto, Ann Takamaki in Persona 5 The Animation, and the voices of both Lan Fan and Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Of course, her list of supporting roles in a wide variety of titles is just as impressive as that of Mr. Tsuda’s. It’s pretty safe to say that the Death Stranding Japanese voice acting roles were handed to two very well-experienced talents.

Two of the major roles for the Death Stranding Japanese voice acting have been filled, but there are a good few more characters in the game that will still need to be voiced. The role of Mads Mikkelsen’s unnamed character is one of the more notable ones to not yet have been filled.

Another point of interest was brought up in replies on both Twitter and Reddit, with folks asking if those in the west be able to hear the Death Stranding Japanese voice acting? Hideo Kojima generally hasn’t been able to include such an option for his games in the past, but who knows what the future holds.
