An Xbox wireless keyboard and mouse has been announced by Razer and is set to arrive next year, adding another way for you to enjoy your games on the Xbox One.
The Xbox One has had support for keyboard and mice via USB ports for a while now. Only a handful of games make use of these peripherals that would otherwise be standard for a PC, but the games that do use them are often greatly enhanced by the devices. Razer has announced an Xbox wireless keyboard and mouse that is purpose-built for Microsoft’s flagship console.
The Xbox wireless keyboard and mouse is specifically designed by Razer for use with the Xbox One console. Heck, it even has an Xbox button replacing the right-hand Ctrl button! The keyboard appears a little thicker than you would expect, but that’s because it seems to have an attached tray for you to use the mouse on. There does appear to be a Windows key in the usual spot, so there probably wouldn’t be anything stopping you from hooking the device up to your computer if you felt like it.
It wouldn’t be a Razer product without a bunch of pretty lights and the Xbox wireless keyboard and mouse delivers it in spades. The one image we can see shows a rainbow-colored light display underneath the keys. We don’t yet know if the color of the lights can be changed as you often can on similar products. 14 games are specifically mentioned as supported by the product. These include DayZ, Warframe, War Thunder, and others. You can see the full listing on Razer’s website.
It bears mentioning that this isn’t a full-size keyboard. Notably, there is no number pad whatsoever on the Xbox wireless keyboard. A small form-factor keyboard isn’t that strange of a sight (especially for many pro gamers) and the lack of a number pad may be partly to accommodate room for the attached mousepad.
Unfortunately, that’s all the details we have on Razer’s new tech for now. We won’t have to wait very long to hear more details – Razer says that they’ll be telling us more about this device at CES 2019 which is set to begin on January 8, 2019. In the meantime, you can head over to the product’s page on Razer’s website and sign up to be notified when we get more details.
