New Conan Game To Debut At Kinda Funny Games Showcase

new Conan game (the Barbarian, not the talk show host) will be debuting at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase this Saturday – certainly a coup for the inaugural year of this new entertainment venture from Kinda Funny Games.

Conan The Barbarian is a decades-old fantasy franchise that has, for some reason, only recently gotten serious attention from game developers. While Conan Exiles was certainly a lot of fun, it’s been two years since the release of that game and it’s done well enough that something new isn’t that crazy of an idea.

A website with a countdown for the new Conan game has popped up. It’s a relatively simple affair with a countdown clock, an image of the titular warrior clad in scaled armor, and an orange background. The countdown website states that an announcement for a new Conan game will be taking place in a little over 2 days.

The Kinda Funny Games Showcase, meanwhile, is the very first event of this type being run by the entertainment group centered on gaming. They’re mostly funded via Patreon and put that money towards producing a podcast, Twitch streams, and plenty of hilarious YouTube content. The group is now expanding into something that they’re billing as “a celebration of all things gaming”.

This as-yet-unnamed new Conan game is being developed by Funcom, developers of both Age of Conan and Conan Exiles. It isn’t the only new Conan game in development, though – Petroglyph is making a Conan game of their own that will probably be something like a real-time strategy. The financial report that talked about this possible Conan RTS also made a point of stating that Conan Exiles was well on its way to being Funcom’s best-selling game of all time.

You can see the new Conan game announcement by tuning in to the Kinda Funny Games Showcase on Saturday, December 8, at 1 PM Eastern. Simply tune in at the right time at twitch.tv/kindafunnygames!
