Bethesda Security Leak Lets Players View Private Information From Fallout 76 Support Tickets

Be careful what information you put in your Fallout 76 support tickets because it seems some users have been able to view private information. Reports have been cropping up saying things like receipt screenshots, names, addresses, and even credit card details are on full display for some hopefully benevolent players.

The Bethesda forums have recently seen a slew of reports of players having access to user information through the Fallout 76 support tickets system. User RadioactiveTrinket said they have access to all sorts of information from the support website in what has to be some sort of horrible bug.

Another Fallout 76 player reported the issue on Reddit under the username Jessiepie. They claim to be able to read pretty much everything from the Fallout 76 support tickets and even have the ability to update or close off the ticket.

“These receipts contain all your info,” the post reads. “Your email and home address and the card you used to buy this extremely glitched game. I can see the problems you are having with the game, yes I’m having them too.”

It appears they posted a screenshot as proof when originally making the post but it has since been taken down to help keep user data as secure as possible, given the situation. Other Reddit users who claim to have seen the picture when it went up believe it to be damning evidence of a very dangerous bug.

To say Bethesda and Fallout 76 really didn’t need this right now is a massive understatement. Their newest wasteland adventure just seems to go from problem to problem. The game so full of bugs that many of our guides are addressing things like connection failed bugs and carry weight glitches.

This, alongside issues with the collector’s edition not being as advertised, have even led to potential lawsuits levelled against the company. And this was before the data leak.
