Strange Brigade Joins Xbox Game Pass

Rebellion Games’ 1930’s inspired adventure Strange Brigade is the latest addition to the Xbox Game Pass. The third-person shooter released earlier this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC – all to fairly mixed reviews. It joins a strong lineup for Microsoft’s Game Pass, which includes PUBG, Forza Horizon 4, and Sea of Thieves.

Strange Brigade will the last of a trio of new games joining the Game Pass service. Time-bending puzzler The Gardens Between became available this week. While isometric tactical shooter Mutant Year Zero will be available from December 4, before Strange Brigade joins on December 6.

Strange Brigade offers a campy jaunt through Egypt as players take on hordes of the undead either in solo action or with up to four-player co-op. The campaign is narrated by a spectacular narrator that will be speaking the Queen’s while you and your gang blast through the various mummies and pirates that litter the tombs of Egypt. Yes, apparently pirates were a thing in Ancient Egypt.

Our own Strange Brigade review praised the game’s ability to push players into exploring, whether it’s for treasure hidden around the levels or the secret puzzles that can be found in tombs across the game, but felt it was lacking in other areas.

While it might not be the best game you play this year, it sounds like Strange Brigade will do enough to keep you and a few friends busy during a rainy day in, and kicking a mummy right in the chest is always quite fun. And isn’t that what the Xbox Game Pass has proved so adept at so far?

The additions to the Xbox Game Pass don’t quite live up to the standard players received last month, with Sniper Elite 4 joining alongside Rollcage-esque racer Grip Combat Racing, and the surprise addition of PUBG.
