Black Ops 4 Blackout Map Changes, Updates, and More on the Way

It seems as though changes are on the way for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout. Taking to Twitter, David Vonderhaar (studio design director at Treyarch) explained that many Black Ops 4 Blackout changes are on the way. These include Black Ops 4 Blackout map changes. Unfortunately, for all of these updates on the way, no release date has been given.

Since Black Ops 4 released back in October earlier this year, small changes have hit its Battle Royale mode, Blackout. It looks as though this could change, however. David Vonderhaar took to Twitter to answer some questions fans had about Blackout, and he made some claims about what’s to come to the mode further down the line. When responding to a question posed about changes in the Blackout map, for example, Vonderhaar answered with “I am not allow to say, but it *is* happening. I’ve played it.”

Vonderhaar added that Treyarch is “on record as saying that we are more interested in adding/subtracting and morphing this map then making new maps (at this time, subject to change…)” He also explained that it would be difficult to add a day/night cycle into Blackout: “It would be cool… but it’s a hugely complex feature for games that have photorealistic art…/lighting set and being able to maintain the quality of such.”

Other than changes to the map, Vonderhaar explained that changes to the armor, addition of camo, an Echelon level cap increase, and more audio fixes are on the way to Blackout. The full list of updates coming to Blackout at an as yet unspecified later date is as follows:

  • Black Ops 4 Blackout map changes are on the way
  • Treyarch is actively working on bringing weapon camos to Blackout
  • Echelon Level Cap will be increased, is waiting to go
  • We will be able to pick up pieces of destroyed armor to fix our broken armor
  • Further audio changes are on the way

For everything Black Ops 4, keep on keeping on GameRevolution.
