The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame looks pretty lovely, and in line with the movie.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame Announced for Next Year

Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games announced The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame earlier today. The game is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 26, which is a few weeks after the premiere of the movie. However, the Switch version will come out a bit later on March 26. No reason was given for the delayed release of the game’s Nintendo Switch version.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is based around the events of  The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. Players will travel between various worlds, including the Systar System, to contend with alien invaders. Players will be able to play as Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and over 100 other characters from the movies. TT Games is promising enhanced combat, exciting brick-building, and a variety of game worlds to explore.

The game follows TT Games’ first LEGO Movie video game, which expanded on its years of experience making LEGO video games. The LEGO Movie Videogame had received relatively well was when it released, according to reviews. It was praised for its solid first half, sense of humor, fun minigames, and devotion to the film’s spirit.

TT Fusion, a division of the larger TT Games developed the previous LEGO Movie game, and the well-received LEGO City Undercover. Fusion also developed Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which introduced third-person cover based shooting to the franchise, and this year’s LEGO The Incredibles, which was released alongside Disney’s Incredibles 2 film.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, and more. It is unclear if any of the movie’s voice actors will reprise their roles for the game, or if voice clips from the movie will be used alongside soundalikes. The LEGO Movie Videogame that came out in 2014 used soundalikes, while more recent LEGO games have utilized the original voice cast.
