Trio Of 2019 THQ Nordic Nintendo Switch Games Announced

A trio of 2019 THQ Nordic Nintendo Switch games have been announced via a press release. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2The Raven Remastered, and Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy are all slated for an Early 2019 release for Nintendo’s hybrid handheld console.

Odds are you might not have heard of some of these titles before. These three 2019 THQ Nordic Nintendo Switch games all have something special to offer. Trailers for two of the three titles have been released; unfortunately, we don’t yet have any visuals for Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a point-and-click adventure game. The genre certainly has a fair amount of competition, but The Book of Unwritten Tales has a twist or two of its own to make it stand out. The game was the product of a successful Kickstarter that earned nearly three times its requested goal of $65,000. It’s certainly not your average adventure game.

Players can take control of one of four different characters for each of the areas they explore in the game. The delightfully quirky cast is aided by the franchise’s trademark humor. Fantasy fans will find plenty to love in the game whether it’s references to The Lord of the Rings or tiny little joke quests like fetching a literal red herring.

The Raven Remastered

The Raven Remastered is the second of the 2019 THQ Nordic Nintendo Switch games coming early next year. This is a tale as old as time – a master thief with a penchant for an animal guise has resurfaced after years of absence. Has the legendary burglar returned or has someone new taken up the mantle?

This adventure is made by the same folks who made The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. Much like its sister release, The Raven Remastered takes a lot of cues from the media it’s inspired by. You’ll visit classic thriller movie locations like the Swiss Alps, the Cairo Museum, and more! All of the game’s animations, lighting, and hair effects have been fully remastered in glorious HD.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy

If you haven’t gotten your fill of Egypt with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you might want to take a peek at Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. The world is a version of ancient Egypt positively packed with rich mythology.

You’ll be taking command of two distinct characters in this game originally developed by Eurocom. Sphinx is a skilled swordman who can go toe-to-toe with the deadly monsters of mythology and transform into a majestic winged lion. The mummy is the other side of the coin; he prefers to utilize stealth to avoid combat whenever possible.

Each of these upcoming games will be priced at  $29.99/£26,99/€29,99 or your regional equivalent. They’ll be available physically and digitally. If these 2019 THQ Nordic Nintendo Switch games on offer sound like a fun time, you shouldn’t have to wait long to get your hands on them. All three of these fine gaming experiences are expected to release sometime in Early 2019.
