PUBG Harley Quinn and Joker Skins Out Now, Cost Up to $25

The PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds crossover with the DC Universe that we reported on previously is out now, and fans aren’t altogether happy. The “PUBG x Suicide Squad” event is a collaboration with DC Comics to bring two of the company’s most iconic characters to the game: a PUBG Harley Quinn and a PUBG Joker. Unfortunately, fans are angry at the pricing of the two skins: The Joker is $20, and Harley Quinn is an eye-watering $25.

Neither skin is meant to be the actual Joker or Harley Quinn characters. These are just “costume sets” for the game, featuring clothing, hair, and make-up. The Harley Quinn pack also contains an extra melee weapon skin for the game, which turns a crowbar or machete into Harley’s iconic “Good Luck” baseball bat. Both costume sets are based on the Suicide Squad movie from 2016 rather than the comics, and can be used on both male and female character types.

Nevertheless, fans are still disappointed in the rather high prices for each single costume pack, which is probably down to the license. Harley’s costume can be picked up separately for $19.99, but her hair, make-up and bat cost $3 each. The Joker’s hair and make-up cost $5 each, inexplicably. There is no offer for buying both together. It’s especially high considering that unlike Fortnite, which has regular costume packs (although, currently, there are no licensed comic book sets) but is free to play, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds still costs $29.99. The Harley Quinn costume set is nearly the same price as the game itself.

There’s also the question of timing, since unlike Fortnite‘s Avengers: Infinity War event earlier this year, which came out while the movie was still in theaters, Suicide Squad is now two years old. In fact the sequel is on its way, directed by Guardians of the Galaxy‘s James Gunn, and there’s a standalone Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix out next year.

If you want to pick them up, the PUBG Harley Quinn and Joker skins are only available until January 30, so grab them before then if you don’t mind the price. At which point we’ll probably get a Batman V Superman crossover or something.
