The Quiet Man New Game Plus Will Add Sounds and Audible Voices

Square Enix has revealed that The Quiet Man New Game Plus mode will add sounds and audible voices to the upcoming game. These features will arrive in a free update one week after the game launches for the PS4 and PC on November 1, 2018. These details were confirmed by the developer/publisher during the game’s most recent Japanese live stream, as translated by the folks at Gematsu.

The first playthrough of The Quiet Man will not feature any sounds or audible voices, excluding special sound effects during the game’s combat. This is due to the fact that the game’s protagonist, Dane, is deaf. After completing the game at least once, The Quiet Man New Game Plus will allow gamers to replay the game with sounds and audio intact, giving them a uniquely different experience and fresh perspective for their second playthrough. That’s not all, as the second playthrough will also provide more answers about the truth of the game’s story.

Developed by both Square Enix and Human Head Studios, The Quiet Man has been described as “an immersive story-driven cinematic action experience.” However, the game’s story will only last for a few hours, which means that the game can be completed in one or two sittings. According to the game’s release date trailer, the game will seemingly comprise of partial live-action footage, as well as combat gameplay strangely reminiscent of Sega’s Yakuza franchise.

Besides revealing The Quiet Man New Game Plus mode, Square Enix has announced that the game’s ending theme song, titled “The Quiet,” is performed by English singer and two-time Grammy Awards winner Imogen Heap. Additionally, the upcoming game has been confirmed to support over 29 languages. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview of the game from PAX West 2018 for more details about the game.
