Warner Bros. Interactive Announces LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game

LEGO already has a line of Avengers toys (most of which ended up in my son's hands this Christmas), so I always wondered if a Marvel LEGO game would ever be in the future. Many said no, considering the business relationship between Warner Bros. and DC Comics, but obviously, from this press release from Warner Bros. Interactive, we can't downplay the possibility of making money, no matter the venue.

Introducing LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, a game starring Nick Fury, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and other non-disclosed heroes to stop Loki and Galactus from dastardly deeds.

And by the way, if you thought the Hub World of Gotham City in LEGO Batman 2 was insanely large, then get ready for a Hub World the size of New York. Literally.

You can expect plenty of unlockables as is half the purpose of all LEGO games, including over 100 characters from the Marvel Universe, including Wolverine, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, and Deadpool. Considering that TQ Jefferson, Vice-President of Games Production for Marvel Entertainment, has said, "If you're a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you," then I'm going to assume all four members of the Fantastic Four will be present. I gotta see how they incorporate Mr. Fantastic's stretchiness ala LEGO style.

The current release window has been set for Fall 2013.
