Sinner Sacrifice for Redemption

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption Battles Onto Consoles Next Month

The art of the boss fight is important and some games, like Furi, base their whole existence around it. On October 18, a new contender in that genre enters the fray. Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption takes cues from Dark Souls and Dante’s Inferno, sending a lone warrior against monsters representing the seven deadly sins.

Sinner‘s launch trailer gives players a hint as to what they’ll face fighting the forces of sin. Each foe towers over the main hero. You’ll be going up against a knight wielding a wall-sized shield and a fencer in a giant battle dress. There’s also a beast that looks like the video game debut of the Witch-Maw Nephilim from Magic: The Gathering’s Ravnica. Whether it’s beast or warrior, there’s plenty of eye candy to go around.

Crafted by a Chinese team with ex-Blizzard and Konami talent, Sinner has more to show than just its impressive monsters. While most games will have you getting stronger as you go on, Sinner forces you to sacrifice your power. You start off as a legendary hero, and you literally leave something on the battlefield after every fight. Given that you can power down different stats, this also opens the game up to replayability, which Sinner supports with multiple endings and game modes to try.

If you’re up to the challenge, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption makes its debut on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on October 18. A PC version is also coming as part of the First on Discord program. This new store is currently in closed beta, but there is an exclusivity deal in place. This means that the exact release date and the date for its Steam debut is still up in the air.
