With its release date looming closer and speculation quickly giving way to the spectacle of it all, Red Dead Redemption 2 is ready to show its true scope and scale to the gaming public. A new Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay trailer has dropped courtesy of Rockstar Games. We’ve already seen some of the exploits of the notorious outlaw Arthur Morgan and his fearful Van der Linde gang, and in typical Rockstar fashion, we’ve learned a fair bit about just how expansive and all-encompassing their vision of the late 19th century is shaping up to be. Now, we’re able to see how much deeper and more open this universe has become.
Longtime fans of the original open world Western title will remember how full and endless the first Red Dead Redemption felt; traveling between the Southern United States and Mexico made us feel like we were wiser and more world-weary the farther we delved into the game, and we needn’t mention how the closing of the saga of John Marston affected us. Suffice to say it seems Rockstar felt an obsessive need to one-up itself into absurdity on this newest addition to the franchise. What other developers can you think of that paid attention to how its animals’ nether regions reacted to the weather? (Seriously, if there is another you can think of, I need to know. I don’t want to explain why I need to know; just accept that I do).
